Who will take it out this year and who will be the recipient of the Kevin Martin Trophy for best on field.
 
This year the girls will also be playing on the same day at the same venue:
 
Fremantle Womens MTL        2.00pm Perth Hockey Stadium 1
Fremantle Mens MTL             3.30pm Perth Hockey Stadium 1

This year it is our home game so we will all be heading back to the clubrooms to have a few drinks and see the presentation of the David Bell trophy to the winning team. So come along and support both teams and back to the club to hopefully celebrate.
 
The club rooms will be open from 5.30pm till late.
 
CLUB AGM PART 2
 
The second part of the clubs AGM will be held at the clubrooms on Thursday 26th April from 7pm onwards.
 
So come along and hear about how the club did last year and what is in store for this year.
 
Some good home cooked meals will be available for purchase on the night aswell as a well stocked bar.

The tournament is played in a round robin format, with the first game sheduled to start at 12.15pm.  Trophy presentation & post match refreshments will be enjoyed at South Street Ale House at around 3.30pm.

The other contestants were the Geraldton Hockey Association, Old Hale Hockey, OGMHC and Rockingham.
There was a round robin played on Saturday of 25 minute games.
The top two teams were to then to play in a 60 minute Grand Final on Sunday with the lower placed teams playing off against each other for the minor positions.
Geraldton played in the first game and impressed by defeating OGMHC 2-0 and then later defeating Hale with the score again being 2-0
In the hot and trying conditions FHC beat Rockingham 3-0, Had the better of a 1-1 draw with Hale then defeated the surprise package of the tournament Geraldton 3-0. With a final place assured they then played a 0-0 draw against OGHMC.
In the final on Sunday, Fremantle quickly took control against a gallant Geraldton but failed to convert this to a significant score going into the half time break.  Just a goal to the good thanks to a tap in by Tim Boteler after decisive lead up work by his team mates down the right.
After half time Fremantle’s superior fitness enabled them to make the game safe by scoring a three further goals including a penalty corner conversion by Mark Ellis and a brace from Charlie Clifton. Fremantle had a number of other chances to score but didn’t.
Their hosts never gave up and scored consolation goal through Nathan Gummery. They continued to press to the end but the final score remained 4 -1 in Fremantle’s favour.
The win was worth $2,000 in prize money but the rewards didn’t end there with Steven Durrell wining the sprint, Mark Nicholls the Grand Final MVP and Tim Boteler highest goal scorer. Each of the players collected a cool $100.
The tournament was well run and showcased Geraldton’ excellent hockey facilities. The Geraldton Hockey Association deserves the highest praise for their initiative.The final was played in front of an enthusiastic and vocal local crowd with the local side impressive with their play.
For Fremantle the tournament provided good quality match practice, enabled a number of new players to showcase their talents and was an opportunity for team bonding. The team returned to Perth tired but happy having enjoyed the local hospitality.

 NEW INCENTIVE FOR 2012!

We have introduced a new incentive for club members to introduce a new member to the club in 2012.
 
For every new** full fee paying member introduced to the club by a current member, the current member will receive a $50 club money voucher to be spent anywhere in the club (excluding fees and fines), once both members fees have been paid in full.
 
To be eligible to claim your club money voucher the new member must mention your name when registering and paying their fees.
 
** a new member refers to anyone that has never played for the club or has not played in the last 3 years.
 
So there are many reasons to get down to registration day this year, and a great chance to save yourselves some money.
